DASSRS

Waiver Policy

At Dama Academic Scholarly & Scientific Research Society (DASSRS), we are committed to fostering inclusive academic participation by ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the dissemination of quality research. Our Waiver Policy provides opportunities for eligible authors to request full or partial waivers of publication fees associated with journals, conference proceedings, or other scholarly outputs.

Eligibility for Waiver

Authors may apply for a waiver if they meet one or more of the following conditions:

  • Affiliated with an institution located in a low-income or lower-middle-income country, as defined by the World Bank.
  • Early-career researchers or postgraduate students without institutional funding.
  • Independent researchers without access to research funding.
  • In cases of humanitarian, educational, or socially impactful research where funding is unavailable.

Types of Waivers

DASSRS offers two types of waivers:

  • Full Waiver: The complete publication or processing fee is waived.
  • Partial Waiver: A percentage (typically 25–75%) of the fee is waived, depending on the applicant’s situation and available funding.

Application Process

To apply for a waiver, authors must:

  • Submit a formal waiver request at the time of manuscript submission.
  • Provide supporting documentation such as:
    • Proof of institutional affiliation (or lack thereof)
    • Evidence of financial hardship
    • Letter of support from a supervisor or institution (if applicable)

Waiver requests should be sent to: editor@damaacademia.com. All waiver applications will be treated with confidentiality and will not affect the editorial decision or review process.

Evaluation and Notification

  • The DASSRS Waiver Committee evaluates waiver requests based on the merit of the research and the financial need of the applicant.
  • Applicants will be notified of the decision within 5–10 business days.
  • The editorial review of the manuscript proceeds independently of the waiver application.

Important Notes

  • Waivers must be requested before or at the time of manuscript submission. Requests made after acceptance may not be considered.
  • Granting a waiver does not guarantee publication; all manuscripts are subject to standard peer review and editorial processes.
  • Authors receiving waivers are expected to acknowledge DASSRS's support in their published work.
