DASSRS

Review Process

DASSRS upholds a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scholarly and scientific research. The Society follows a double-blind peer review model, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the process.

Initial Submission Check

Upon submission, the editorial office conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript to ensure:

  • The submission meets the formatting and structural requirements.
  • The topic aligns with the aims and scope of the journal or conference.
  • The manuscript passes a plagiarism screening (similarity index must be ≤ 15%).

Result: Manuscripts that fail this stage are either rejected or returned to the authors for revision.

Assignment to Handling Editor

If the manuscript passes the initial review, it is assigned to a suitable Handling Editor based on their subject expertise. The Handling Editor may:

  • Perform an in-depth preliminary review.
  • Decide whether the manuscript should proceed to peer review.

Result: The manuscript may be desk-rejected or moved forward to the next stage.

Double-Blind Peer Review

The manuscript is sent to two or more independent reviewers who are experts in the field. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Research design and methodology
  • Clarity of analysis and discussion
  • Relevance of references and literature
  • Structure, language, and formatting

Reviewers are expected to provide their feedback within 2-4 weeks.

Reviewer Recommendations

Based on the reviews, the Handling Editor makes a recommendation:

  • Accept without changes
  • Minor revision required
  • Major revision required
  • Reject

Authors are provided with anonymous reviewer comments and suggestions.

Author Revisions

If revisions are requested, authors must:

  • Submit a revised manuscript within the stipulated time (typically 2–3 weeks).
  • Provide a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments.

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers or reviewed by the editor directly.

Final Decision

The Handling Editor, in consultation with the editorial board (if necessary), makes the final publication decision. Possible outcomes:

  • Accepted for publication
  • Rejected
  • Further revision required

Authors are notified of the final decision via email.

Copyediting and Proofing

Accepted manuscripts undergo:

  • Copyediting for grammar, formatting, and referencing accuracy.
  • Proofreading by the author before final publication.

Publication

The final version is published in the designated DASSRS journal or conference proceedings. Authors receive a publication certificate and a digital copy of the work.

Post-Publication Review (if applicable)

In line with DASSRS’s commitment to transparency and continuous improvement, we may invite feedback after publication. Any issues, such as errors, retractions, or corrections, are addressed by our ethical standards.

Confidentiality and Ethics

  • All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.
  • Reviewers must declare any potential conflict of interest and maintain objectivity.
  • The review process complies with COPE and international ethical standards.
